Ruby Wax on Who Do You Think You Are?

Comedian and mental health campaigner Ruby Wax is the latest to feature on the popular Who Do You Think You Are? series on BBC One.

It began with a trip to Austria to learn about her late parents and their escape from the Nazis in 1938, something that her father described as a grim ordeal. The family research then moved to the Czech Republic where Wax discovered she had two relatives who were sectioned in the same asylum. As you can imagine, this caused quite the emotional response to

As you can imagine, this caused quite the emotional response to discover her own long-term depression was in her genes. Of course, this opened up a line of women in her family who had suffered from the same affliction.

Sensitvely done, and revealing a side of Ruby that we don’t often see, it’s a highly recommended watch. Catch it on the BBC iPlayer.
